Thursday took us under the Bridge of the Americas instead of over it like Wednesday.
There’s a quietish little town called Veracruz, just behind the old US Military bases that sat at the opening of the Canal into the Pacific Ocean.
The beach could be fantastic with wide open spaces, nice looking white sand, and some sandbars and tide pooling spots. But the water is pretty gross looking. From the pollution of the big city and all the ships passing by, it’s pretty at a distance but rather grimy close up.
There’s a fantastic sand bar that stretches almost out to an island called Isla Venao. We visited this spot three years ago, but weren’t confident of the tide. This time we timed it to be able to explore a bit.
We saw these adorable fishies in the tide pools.
And this massive plane flew over our heads.
