Yesterday we tried to visit Volcán Poas, located about a 50 minute drive from our Place in Alajuela. While the drive was fantastic, the weather decided not to cooperate. The lovely attendant at the ticket booth advised us to reconsider as there was such an intense cloud cover they didn’t expect any visibility all day. She showed us the site to check the live feed and we turned around and headed back down the mountain.
It wasn’t a total bust, as we found a stand with some tasty strawberries, local honey, and sweet treats. Oh and cheese. YUM.
After lunch we packed out of our city dwellings for a drive to a beach house that we rented for a few days. We got in just in time to unpack and take a quick stroll along the boardwalk in Puntarenas.
