After leaving South Padre we drove up through Corpus Christi and decided to check out North Padre. It has a completely different feel. While South Padre is a beach town, very much geared toward tourists, with swim suit shops lining the streets, North Padre is a National Park. It’s tucked away from everything and has the usual trappings of a National Park.
I’m sure it’s super crowded in the spring but when we were there, we practically had the parking lots t to ourselves. The weather was great and we were able to spend a couple great hours in the beach before moving on.
